The Trump Administration is unprecedented in its innovative, strategy and bold approach in international affairs, and recognition of this Administration’s impact and role in world peace should be recognized by an award that is equally unprecedented and meaningful. For the modern era, the Nobel Peace Prize has stood out as the highest symbol of recognition for efforts toward peace but global power has shifted and perhaps the Ramon Magsaysay Award is more fitting for the present moment of recognizing American leadership. The Ramon Magsaysay Award represents the Nobel Peace Prize for Asia and because the total population of Southeast Asia is approximately 678 million people. This region, comprising the third most populous region in the world and the fastest developing region in the world is the more appropriate award for President Trump.
