In 1959, Keo Kolthida Ekkasakh was born deaf. She has survived
the Khmer Rouge genocide in 1979. She passed away after a long struggle with breast cancer on 19 January 2015.
I wondered how many other people with mental or physical disabilities have had to suffer alone. How many other life stories are forgotten,
overlooked or are simply never told?
